Rarely do I look at the my subjects during the moment of taking the photo. Maybe in the moment of creation I don't want to be seen. Invisible, just another black man breathing. But alas, these are foolish hopes. For I am the backside of the mirror holding up the reflection. Trying to discover myself by seeing others. Astonished, amused, and sometimes shocked by the reaction. This series of photographs is an exploration of expressions and reactions when embracing the candid, the intimate, and sometime uncomfortable bonding of strangers. What I see is balanced by what and how they see back.
